  • First and last name; and

  • Email address.

We do not require or request that you provide sensitive personal or health information through our Site. Please do not include sensitive personal or health details in messages submitted through our contact form or by email, as these are not fully secure methods of communication. Any clinical or health information relevant to therapy is collected and handled separately, through secure channels, in accordance with applicable law and professional obligations.

This information does not by itself reveal your specific identity, and is used primarily to maintain the security and operation of our Site and for internal analytics and reporting. Like many websites, we also collect some information through cookies and similar technologies (see "Do we use cookies and other tracking technologies?" below).

HOW DO WE USE YOUR INFORMATION?

We only use the information we collect for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy or indicated on the relevant pages of our Site. We will not use your data beyond what we disclose here.

The information we collect automatically is used:

  • For website analytics, to understand and improve how visitors use the Site, and to maintain the security and proper functioning of the Site.

  • To respond to your inquiries;

  • To communicate with prospective and current clients; and

  • To schedule and arrange consultations and appointments.

We may also use your information where necessary to comply with our legal and professional obligations.

WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION?

We do not sell your personal information. We may share or disclose your information only in the following circumstances:

  • With service providers who support the operation of our Site (for example, our website hosting provider), to the extent reasonably necessary to provide and maintain the Site;

  • Google Maps Platform APIs: Our Contact page includes an embedded Google Map. When this map loads, certain information may be shared with Google through the Google Maps Platform APIs. Your use of Google Maps is subject to Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements (https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy);

  • Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors use our Site. Google Analytics collects information such as how often visitors come to the Site, what pages they visit, and what other sites they used prior to coming to the Site. We use this information only to improve our Site. Google's ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics is governed by the Google Analytics Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout);

  • If required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to respond to a lawful request;

  • Where necessary for an actual or contemplated legal proceeding, or to establish, exercise, or protect our legal rights; and

  • In connection with, or during negotiations of, a sale or transfer of all or part of our practice or business.

If you follow hyperlinks from our Site to another website, please note that we are not responsible for and have no control over the privacy policies and practices of those other websites.

DO WE USE COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES?

A cookie is a small file stored on your device by a website, used to collect information about your browsing. Most web browsers accept cookies by default. You can usually set your browser to remove or reject cookies, though doing so may affect certain features of the Site.

We use the following types of first-party cookies on our Site:

  • Functional cookies — used to remember selections and preferences so that the Site functions properly; and

  • Analytical cookies — used to understand how visitors access and use the Site (such as the content viewed and time spent on the Site) so that we can improve its design and functionality. This includes cookies set by Google Analytics.

In addition, our embedded Google Map may set third-party cookies through the Google Maps Platform APIs, as described in the section above.

Further details on how to manage cookies are set out below and in your browser settings.

HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?

We keep your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (including applicable professional and record-keeping obligations). When we no longer have a legitimate need to retain your information, we will securely delete it or otherwise dispose of it.

HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?

We take reasonable measures to protect the personal information we collect. Our Site uses SSL/TLS encryption (HTTPS) to protect data transmitted through the Site, and information submitted through our contact form is hosted on our website provider's (Squarespace's) secure servers. We limit access to personal information to those who reasonably need it to respond to inquiries and operate the practice.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. While we take all reasonable precautions to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security, and any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. You should avoid sending sensitive personal or health information through our contact form or by email.

DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?

We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from individuals under 18 years of age. Our Services are intended for adults. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a person under 18, we will take reasonable steps to delete it as soon as possible. If you believe we may have collected information from a minor, please contact us using the details in this Privacy Policy.

WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?

Depending on your province or country of residence, you may have certain rights under applicable data protection law. In Canada, these may include the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to request correction of inaccurate information, to request deletion of your information, and to withdraw your consent to our processing of your personal information.

If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, or to ask how we have collected, used, or disclosed your personal information, please contact us using the details below.

CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES

Most web browsers include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature you can activate to signal that you do not want your online activity tracked. As no uniform standard for recognizing DNT signals has been finalized, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals. If a standard is adopted in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly.

HOW TO OPT OUT OF CERTAIN DATA COLLECTION

You can opt out of the following:

  • The use of non-essential cookies and similar tracking technologies. You can manage or decline non-essential cookies through our cookie consent banner, and you can disable cookies through your browser settings.

  • Google Analytics tracking. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to maintain compliance with applicable law and to reflect any changes to our data practices. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Where appropriate, we may notify you of material changes.
